We believe that everybody should have access to healthy meals 365 days a year.

Promoting access to nutritious meals in the Summer.

To alleviate seasonal food insecurity, the LunchBox works to end childhood hunger by increasing access to fresh, local, and nutritious lunches in the summer months. Many children using free or reduced-priced lunches during the school year lack the ability to access summer food programs. In response, the LunchBox launched their pilot program in the Summer of 2017 at the Highland Community Garden in Franklinton, Ohio and distributed lunch every Thursday, serving nearly 900 youth.

Today the LunchBox now delivers 100 lunches every Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday from their food truck, totaling almost 3,000 lunches a summer! They currently serve the Hilltop neighborhood but hope to keep expanding to different sites in the Columbus area.

If you, or someone you know, has children that need a free lunch during the summer, please contact us at thelunchboxohio@gmail.com - NO QUESTIONS ASKED!
