In Ohio, 25.2% of children live in households that experience food insecurity at some point during the year.
The Lunchbox Ohio strives to end childhood hunger by mobilizing the accessibility of food to children in the Summer months. Six out of seven kids who receive a free or reduced lunch during the school year do not get a free meal during the Summer.
Who we are, and who we help.
The Lunchbox Ohio is run by Katie Holmes and Bethy Spangler. They work relentlessly to serve the communities of Central Ohio, mainly in the Hilltop, Franklinton, and South End. This multi-location system is made possible through the use of a food truck that allows the Lunchbox to reach more and have a greater impact in the Columbus area.
